Welcome To Buckna
Notice:
As you may or may not know, the Presbyterian Mutual Society has been quite a high profile casualty of the recent credit crunch with many churches and individuals affected by the lack of cash available in their funds. Unfortunately, mutual societies (like the PMS) are not covered by the same Government guarantees and support as banks and some other financial institution, leaving PMS investors potentially facing terrible losses.
A petition has been set up which will allow you to add your name to the list of those requesting that our Government provide the same level of backup to mutuals as they have done to banks. We encourage everyone to sign this petition in support of the aims. Click here to launch the petition and add your name.
Welcome to the website for Buckna Presbyterian Church. Thank you for taking the time to visit our site and to find out all about our congregation and, more importantly, our faith and our God. We hope that are moving towards providing a useful and helpful resource for you to find out all about what we believe, and to learn more about the God we hope to serve.
Please take some time to check out the facilities of this site.
- The sermons of our minister, Rev Mark Neilly, will be made available for download or online streaming. If you've been to a service and would like to hear the sermon again, or to tell others about it, this facility should be very helpful.
- We will outline some of the work done by the various committees who serve our church.
- Our congregation has a number of affiliated organisations which cater for most people in some way or another within the church. This site will provide information about what they do, and hopefully some photography.
We are very grateful to UCB Radio for providing us with access to their world-famous "Word for Today". See the feature on the right of this page for a link to read a few words which are always challenging and thought-provoking.
If you have any feedback or comments on our site, we'd really like to hear from you. See our contact page on how to do so.
Thanks again! |
